- Women candidates
RCF states that the fee must be paid through the online payment facility. Fee paid through an unapproved mode is not accepted.
Selection Process & Training
Merit-Based Selection
There is no written examination.
The merit list is prepared using the simple average of:
- percentage of marks obtained in Matriculation; and
- percentage of ITI marks in the relevant trade.
For Matriculation percentage, marks obtained in all subjects are considered. ITI percentage is taken from the provisional/final certificate.
Tie-Breaking Rule
If two candidates have equal merit:
- the older candidate gets preference;
- if date of birth is also the same, the candidate who passed Matriculation earlier gets preference.
Final Verification
Candidates placed in the final panel remain subject to:
- verification of original testimonials; and
- prescribed medical fitness.
Training Period & Stipend
RCF states that the training period and stipend will be governed by the extant Railway Board rules and directives applicable to Act Apprentices.
The notification does not publish one universal fixed stipend figure for all candidates, so this article does not copy stipend numbers from another Railway apprenticeship notice.
Apprenticeship training does not automatically create a right to permanent absorption in Rail Coach Factory or Indian Railways.
