Telangana Police SI Eligibility Criteria 2026

Candidates must satisfy the educational, age, physical and medical requirements prescribed for the selected post. Eligibility will remain provisional until TSLPRB verifies the original documents.

Educational Qualification

An applicant must possess a degree awarded by a recognized university in India or an equivalent qualification as on 29 July 2026.

The degree, provisional certificate or consolidated marks memorandum used to prove the qualification must have been issued on or before 29 July 2026 and must be produced during certificate verification.

Degrees completed through open university or distance education mode are acceptable only when the university, programme and qualification have the required recognition from the relevant statutory authority, such as UGC, AICTE or the Distance Education Council, as applicable.

Additional Qualification for Station Fire Officer

Candidates applying for Post Code 17, Station Fire Officer, must also possess a valid Light Motor Vehicle driving licence as on 29 July 2026. The relevant driving licence information issued by the concerned RTA licensing authority must be produced during certificate verification.

Telangana Police SI Age Limit 2026

The age requirement is calculated as on 1 July 2026.

  • Minimum age: 21 years
  • Normal upper-age condition stated in the notification: candidate must not have attained 25 years
  • Additional general upper-age relaxation: the Telangana Government has raised the upper age limit by five years for direct recruitment to uniformed services under GO Ms. No. 87 dated 18 May 2026

Telangana Police SI Selection Process 2026

Papers I and II are qualifying in nature, and their marks are not added to the final merit score. The minimum qualifying mark in each final paper is 40% for OC including EWS, 35% for BC, and 30% for SC, ST and Ex-Servicemen candidates.

Final selection for Post Codes 11, 17, 18 and 19 is primarily based on the aggregate marks in Papers III and IV, subject to the applicable reservation and recruitment rules.
