Vacancy and Post Details

AIIMS CRE-5 was not limited to one designation. It combined several posts with similar examination requirements into separate group codes.

The advertised vacancies included posts connected with:

  • Administration and office management
  • Junior administrative and clerical work
  • Data entry and stenography
  • Accounts and finance
  • Laboratory and medical laboratory services
  • Pharmacy and dispensing services
  • Engineering and technical services
  • Dietetics and hospital support
  • Medical records and reception
  • Library services
  • Security and fire services
  • Social security administration
  • Telephone operations
  • Hostel and ward management
  • Other non-faculty Group B and Group C functions

Vacancies, pay level, age limit, qualification, experience and reservation were different for each post and participating institution. Candidates must check the relevant group code and post row in the detailed notification rather than applying a general eligibility rule to every vacancy.

Educational Qualification

There is no single educational qualification for all CRE-5 posts.

Depending on the post, the required qualification may include:

  • Matriculation or Class 10
  • Senior Secondary or Class 12
  • ITI or a recognised certificate
  • Diploma in the relevant discipline
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Master’s degree
  • Professional or technical qualification
  • Registration with the relevant professional council
  • Required typing, computer or stenography skill
  • Prescribed work experience

Candidates were required to possess the essential qualification and experience by the closing date, unless the advertisement specifically provided another condition.

The issue of an admit card does not confirm eligibility. The respective allotted institution will verify original qualifications, category certificates, experience and other claims during document verification.

Use the Job Eligibility Checker to organise the requirements of a particular post before document verification.

Age Limit and Relaxation

The age limit varies according to the post and participating organisation. Applicants should check the age column against the exact post and group code in the detailed advertisement.

The crucial date for determining age and other eligibility conditions was generally the closing date of online registration, 3 July 2026, unless another date was specifically stated for a post.

General age-relaxation provisions included:

CategoryRelaxation
Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes5 years
Other Backward Classes3 years
Persons with Benchmark Disabilities10 years

Eligible Central Government civilian employeesAs specified for Group B or Group C posts

Candidates can calculate their age on the applicable cut-off date through the Recruitment Age Calculator.

Application Fee

The application fee was charged separately for each group of posts.

Persons with DisabilitiesExempt

Candidates applying for more than one group were required to submit a separate application and fee for each group.

AIIMS CRE-5 Exam Pattern

Exam featureDetails
ModeComputer-based test
Duration90 minutes
Total questions100 multiple-choice questions
Maximum marks400
Marks per question4
General and computer section20 questions
Domain-related section80 questions
Negative markingOne-fourth of the marks assigned to a question

Minimum qualifying marks

CategoryMinimum qualifying marks
UR and EWS40%
OBC35%
SC and ST30%
Persons with Benchmark Disabilities30%

Meeting the minimum qualifying percentage does not guarantee selection. AIIMS may restrict the number of qualified candidates based on category-wise vacancies, merit and the rules applicable to each group.

Selection Process

The selection process may include the following stages:

  1. Computer-based test
  2. Skill test, where prescribed
  3. Physical Standards Test or Physical Efficiency Test for specified security or fire posts
  4. Exercise of institute and post preferences
  5. Document verification by the allotted institution
  6. Medical examination or other appointment formalities, where applicable

The skill test may include typing, stenography, programming, SQL, translation, drafting or another post-specific assessment.

Candidates qualifying in the CBT must submit their institute and post preferences when invited. Failure to submit a preference within the prescribed period may result in the candidate not being considered for the relevant organisations.

Clerical and stenography candidates can practise with the Typing Speed Test while waiting for the revised schedule or skill-test notice.

Documents Required for Verification

Candidates should keep the following original documents and self-attested copies ready:

  • CRE-5 application or registration slip
  • Admit card
  • Valid photo identity proof
  • Date-of-birth certificate
  • Educational qualification certificates
  • Marksheets
  • Professional registration certificate, where required
  • Experience certificates in the prescribed form
  • Category certificate
  • EWS certificate
  • PwBD certificate
  • Ex-serviceman certificate
  • No Objection Certificate for applicable employees
  • Government-service certificate for age concession
  • Other documents supporting any eligibility or relaxation claim

Experience certificates should clearly mention the employment period, pay and nature of duties. AIIMS or the participating institution may verify experience through bank statements, PF, ESIC records or another appropriate method.

Prepare a post-specific list with the Application Document Checklist and consult the Recruitment Document Guide when organising certificates.

Photograph, Signature and Thumb Impression

The online application required clearly visible scanned images of the candidate’s photograph, signature and thumb impression according to the portal specifications.

Poorly prepared, blurred or incorrectly sized files could lead to rejection. Candidates should preserve the same identity details and images used during the application process for future examination and verification stages.

For future recruitment forms, use the Photo and Signature Resizer to prepare files according to the official dimensions and file-size limits.
