Bank of India (BOI) has released its recruitment notice for Credit Officers in the General Banking Officer (GBO) stream under Project No. 2026-27/01, dated 1 June 2026. The Bank is looking to fill 779 vacancies spread across three scales — MMGS-II, MMGS-III and SMGS-IV.

The 779 vacancies are distributed across three officer scales, with category-wise reservation as per Government of India norms. The table also shows the number of posts identified for persons with benchmark disabilities (PwBD) under Hearing Impairment (HI), Visual Impairment (VI), Orthopaedic/Locomotor (OC) and Intellectual Disability (ID) categories.

41 32–45 Years A Degree (Graduation) in any discipline from a recognized University/Institute with 60% marks or equivalent grade (55% for SC/ST/OBC/PWBD) recognized by the Government of India, or any equivalent qualification recognized as such by the Central Government. OR CA / CMA-ICWA / CS / CFA Minimum 7 years’ post-qualification experience as an officer, out of which 4 years’ experience should be in processing of MSME Credit, Commercial Credit, Project Finance, or Mid & Large Credit in Scheduled Commercial Banks, Financial Institutions, or NBFCs.

Eligibility Criteria (As on 01.06.2026)

Nationality

A candidate must be one of the following: a citizen of India; a subject of Nepal; a subject of Bhutan; a Tibetan refugee who came to India before 1 January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India; or a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia or Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India. Candidates in the last four categories require an eligibility certificate issued by the Government of India.

Educational Qualification and Experience

Check Annexure-I for post-wise qualification The Bank of India notice sets out the specific educational qualification and experience required for each scale (MMGS-II, MMGS-III, SMGS-IV) in a separate Annexure-I. Candidates should download the full notification and Annexure-I from the official website and confirm they meet the qualification and experience criteria before applying — no change of category or details is permitted after registration.
  • Candidates who previously held a similar post at Bank of India are not eligible to apply again.
  • Candidates should indicate their graduation percentage calculated to two decimals; a CGPA/OGPA must be converted to percentage. Fractions are not rounded up (for example, 59.99% is treated as less than 60%).
  • Reserved-category candidates (SC/ST/OBC/PWD) applying against reserved vacancies get a 5% relaxation wherever a minimum of 60% marks is stipulated in educational qualification — i.e., 55% is sufficient for them.
  • A candidate may apply for only one post; in case of multiple applications, only the latest completed application is retained and fees paid for the others are forfeited.

Age relaxation for SC/ST/OBC candidates can be combined on a cumulative basis with only one of the other relaxation categories listed above. Relevant certificates must be produced at the time of interview.

EWS (Economically Weaker Section) Criteria

Candidates not covered under the existing SC/ST/OBC reservation, whose family’s gross annual income is below ₹8 lakh (income for the financial year 2025-26), may claim EWS status. A family is excluded from EWS, irrespective of income, if it owns any of the following:

  • 5 acres of agricultural land or more
  • A residential flat of 1,000 sq. ft. or more
  • A residential plot of 100 sq. yards or more in notified municipalities
  • A residential plot of 200 sq. yards or more outside notified municipalities

EWS vacancies are tentative and subject to Government of India directives and the outcome of any pending litigation.

Selection is through an online examination and/or personal interview, depending on the number of eligible applicants. Bank of India may also select purely through interview without an online test.

How to Apply for BOI Credit Officer Recruitment 2026

  1. Visit the official Bank of India website: bankofindia.bank.in.
  2. Click on Career, then open “Recruitment of Credit Officers in GBO Stream, Project No. 2026-27/01”.
  3. Click Apply Online, then choose “Click here for New Registration”.
  4. Enter your name, contact details and email ID to generate a Provisional Registration Number and Password — note these down.
  5. Use “Save and Next” to fill the form in stages and verify each section as you go.
  6. Upload your photograph, signature, left thumb impression and handwritten declaration as per the specifications above.
  7. Fill in your qualification, category, experience and centre preference details.
  8. Use the Preview tab to check the entire form carefully — no changes are allowed after final submission.
  9. Click Complete Registration, then proceed to the Payment tab.
  10. Pay the application fee online via card, net banking, UPI or wallet, and wait for the e-Receipt to be generated.
  11. Download and print the system-generated application form and e-Receipt for your records.
No corrections after submission Name, category, date of birth, post applied for, address, mobile number, email ID and examination centre cannot be changed once the online application is submitted. Fill the form carefully before clicking Complete Registration.

Documents Required at the Time of Interview

Shortlisted candidates must carry the following documents in original with self-attested photocopies:

  • Printout of the interview call letter and the system-generated online application
  • Proof of date of birth (birth certificate or Std. X certificate)
  • Valid photo identity proof (PAN, Passport, Driving Licence, Voter ID, Aadhaar, etc. — Ration Card and Learner’s Licence are not accepted)
  • Mark sheets and certificates for the qualifying education, with proof the result was declared on or before 1 June 2026
  • Caste certificate in the prescribed format for SC/ST/OBC candidates (OBC non-creamy-layer certificate must be dated on or after 1 April 2026)
  • Income and Asset Certificate for EWS candidates, based on FY 2025-26 income
  • Disability certificate and UDID for PWD candidates, plus scribe bio-data where applicable
  • Discharge book/pension order for Ex-servicemen candidates
  • No Objection Certificate for candidates currently employed in Government/PSU roles
  • Relevant experience certificates, where applicable

Candidates who cannot produce the required documents at the time of interview will not be permitted to appear, and no documents are to be sent directly to the Bank before or after the interview.
